PATIENT KILLED IN FATAL ACCIDENT AFTER AMBULANCE DRIVER FELL ASLEEP
Chautauqua County, New York (February 24, 2017) – A 77-year-old patient that was being transported from a hospital in Pennsylvania was tragically killed after the driver of an ambulance transporting him fell asleep.
Police tested the woman that was driving the ambulance for drugs and alcohol, but the results of those tests have not come back yet.
Ahorities have been able to identify the patient that was killed as Arthur McArthur. He was being transported from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to a nursing and rehabilitation center.
It appears as though the accident took place in the town on Dunkirk which is about 35 miles southeast of Buffalo. An EMT that was sitting in the back of the ambulance also appears to have sustained injuries, though they are not life-threatening.
Our staff at the RMFW Law Firm were heartbroken to learn of the tragic accident involving Arthur McArthur. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims family as they seek answers about what happened.
