PATIENT KILLED IN FATAL ACCIDENT AFTER AMBULANCE DRIVER FELL ASLEEP
Chautauqua County, New York (February 24, 2017) – An ambulance driver fell asleep and crashed into a ditch in a crash that injured an EMT and killed a 77-year-old nursing home patient.
It does not appear as though the driver oft the ambulance has been arrested. The patient that died has been identified as Arthur McArthur.
The ambulance appears to have hit something before crashing into a ditch. The patient was being moved to a nursing home.
Police will continue to conduct a thorough investigation into the crash. It was around 5:20 PM at the time of the collision and it remains unclear if any witnesses saw the crash.
The RMFW extends its deepest condolences to the family of the victim. No family should ever have to go through something this horrific. We encourage the police to conduct a through investigation.
