FREAK ACCIDENT WITH FORK LIFT KILLS CONSTRUCTION WORKER

QUEENS, NEW YORK (February 24, 2016) –  The NY Daily News is reporting that a 28-year construction worker at Napa Auto Parts was tragically killed in a freak accident between a van and a forklift.

The construction worker was operating the forklift on Review Avenue by 35th Street in Long Island City.

Rakesh Ram parked the forklift in front of a van. He then got out of the forklift and put the machine in neutral. A few moments after he got out of the forklift it began rolling forward and pinned him to the van.

Medics rushed to the scene and transported the victim to the Elmhurst Hospital Center. Unfortunately Rakesh Ram succumbed to his injuries and died.

The yellow Yale Forklift involved in the accident is still being investigated.
