FATAL ACCIDENT INVOLVED TRACTOR TRAILER LEAVES TWO DEAD
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (February 27, 2017) – Two people were killed after a truck burst into flames after it ran into the back of a tractor trailer on the freeway, according to ABC 7 News.
Police are saying that the truck involved in the accident was at a complete standstill due to slowed traffic on the freeway.
The car involved in the accident was not able to slow down in time and ran into the semi. Most semi-trucks have bars on the back of them in order to help mitigate the impact of rear end collisions.
Because trucks are typically higher than other cars, when a vehicle runs into the back it can get pushed under and put into a dangerous position.
Authorities will continue to investigate the collision in order to determine liability.
